It would be helpful if each class would bring the following resources on the day:
9:15am - Arrive at Tinaroo Environmental Education Centre, Black Gully, Tinaroo.
9:15 to 9:40am
Welcome Walk & Talk- Explain boundaries, fire alarm procedure, toilets and eating areas. Give a brief outline of the day's activities based around the concept of 'REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.' Draw attention to photographic display of local Council Transfer Stations and Refuse Dumps (Atherton Shire, Mareeba Shire and Eacham Shire).REUSED MILK BOTTLE HUNT: Several plastic Milk Bottles have been reused in various ways and have been placed around the Centre. Students have the task of noticing these milk bottles and keeping the location of these milk bottles a secret from other students. The students are only allowed to tell adults the location of any used milk bottles.
9:40 to 10:00am
Explain the location of the four activities based around the concept of 'REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE'. Give a brief introduction and explanation of each activity.

Lunch - Students are encouraged to bring a 'Litter-less lunch' on this day.(Teachers to discuss ideas as a pre-visit activity. eg food put in containers to be reused instead of wrapped in glad wrap, drinks in containers not poppers, fruit in skins or washable containers not wrapped in glad wrap.)
1:00 to 1:15pm
Discuss noticeboard with sign "How long does litter last?"Litter Hunt/Emu Parade: Walk along foreshore of Dam searching for and collecting small pieces of plastic litter to be used on mural.
1:15 to 2:15pm
TRASH TRANSFORMERS ART SESSION: The students will have the opportunity to transform various items of rubbish into useful items by applying the concept of REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE.
2:15 to 2:30pm
Reveal the locations around the Centre of the disguised reused milk bottles and Summarise Day.
2:30pm
Depart Centre.
